There was a simple man who lived some of his life
On some land that became part of him
And he transformed that land that was part of him
With his hard work and his vision
His hands were like diamonds as he cut the stones
Laid the bricks that became his home.
He was driven by his ideas and he worked alone
He left his magic everywhere
He laid down his life on that ground
He laid down his life on that ground
He laid down his life on this land
He laid his life down
Now I live on that land
I watch the sun set against the purple sky
I wonder why I was so blessed
To be part of that mans life
I never get tired of this view he’d say
as he sat in his gazebo eating lunch everyday
I never get tired of this view I say
and I think of my old man most everyday
So now I must try to do my part
I must try to unleash my own vision
The dust and the dirt is imbedded in me
I must make this my mission
He lay down his life on that ground,
He lay down his life on that ground,
He lay down his life on this land,
He lay his life down
I lay down my life on that ground,
I lay down my life on this land,
I lay down my life its my turn now,
He lay his life down
I lay my life down
He lay his life down |
